Tickets for the Mumbai Indians Home Matches Go On Sale

Mumbai, April 12, 2008: The Mumbai Indians began the sale of tickets online for their home league matches in the DLF Indian Premier League from midnight yesterday for the much awaited matches in the city which will be played at two venues – the Wankhede Stadium and the D Y Patil Stadium at Navi Mumbai.

The first match of the Mumbai Indians will be against the Bangalore Royal Challengers at the Wankhede Stadium on April 20.

The next five matches will be played at D Y Patil Stadium on:

  • April 27 against Hyderabad Deccan Chargers,
  • May 4 against Delhi Daredevils,
  • May 7 against Jaipur Rajasthan Royals,
  • May 14 against Chennai Super Kings and
  • May 16 against Kolkata Knight Riders.

The final league match against Mohali Kings XI Punjab will be played at the Wankhede Stadium on May 21.

The date for sale of tickets for the subsequent home league matches and the two semifinals and final to be held in Mumbai on May 30, 31 and June 1 will be announced later.

Mr. R. Balachandran, President & Chief Marketing Officer, Reliance Retail, said: “We are glad to announce the sale of tickets online and we look forward for the public to extend their support for the Mumbai Indians, led by icon Sachin Tendulkar. The Mumbai Indians team has a great mix of iconic international players and talented youngsters.

“The tickets have been reasonably priced and the rates are published for the first two matches. Apart from the online option mentioned, tickets will also be available near the venues and at various outlets one week before the first match,” Mr. R Balachandran added.

The pricing for the tickets is for the first two matches only.

Ticket rates for the first match on 20th April ’08 between Mumbai Indians and Bangalore Royal Challengers at Wankhede Stadium are:

  • Sunil Gavaskar stand lower Bay Rs 250 and Upper Bay Rs 1,500
  • North Stand (J K L M N  blocks) Rs 500
  • North Stand (Centre) Rs 1,000
  • Sachin Tendulkar and Vijay Merchant Stands Rs 500
  • Guest stand / Vithal Divecha Stand Rs 1,500
  • Garware Club House Upper Bay Rs 6,000
  • MCA upper stand Rs 3,000

Ticket rates for the match on 27th April ’08 between Mumbai Indians and Hyderabad Deccan Chargers at D Y Patil Stadium are:

  • East Stand Rs 200
  • West Stand Rs. 400
  • North East and North West Stands (two bays each) Rs 500
  • South East and South West Stands (one bay each) Rs. 1,000
